What is the copyright?
Copyright is an International covenant, wherein, while a purchaser may own the individual print, one does not, unless a specific license has been purchased, own the image upon the print. A bit like a book really, when you purchase a book, you may own the book but the words within the book are owned by the copyright holder. All you own is the individual copy of the book. Same with copyrighted photos - you own a copy of the photograph, but the image remains under control of the photographer and must not be copied.
Putting a copy on your computer desktop for instance is not a problem, but if you wish to have additional prints, beyond your original order, or to use the image for advertising or on websites, then please contact us at AvalonPics. Breach of Copyright is a crime and there are numerous cases of succesful prosecutions being taken.
